About the Artist

A native Memphian, Nancy attended the Memphis College of Art, learning from talented mentors Dolph Smith, Bill Hicks and John Torina. Nancy honed her skills painting "Plein Air" with Frieda Hamm and taking private lessons with landscape artist, Matthew Hasty and portrait artist, Jamie McMann. Workshops with Ann Templeton, a top 100 US landscape painter per American Artist Magazine, added another dimension to Nancy's ability to use paint.

A founding member of the exclusive art group The Memphis Ten, Nancy has been a member of the Memphis-Germantown Art League for many years, winning awards in local exhibitions, and exhibiting in national shows. She had a one-woman exhibit at the Shainberg Gallery in Memphis and is currently represented in Oxford, Mississippi, at Material Girlz. Nancy's painterly landscapes, abstracts, figurative and 'black and white' paintings are in private collections throughout the United States.

Her love of art began in early childhood. Feelings associated with drawing and painting made her see things in a different way, appreciating the beauty that could be transferred from her mind to paper and canvas. After 25 years Nancy continues to experience growth, creating new, exciting pieces of art.
